About Linda Nisselson

Abstract Expressionist painter Linda Nisselson's paintings are inspired by nature: its energy, its rhythms, and its coloration. The abstract imagery is tied to moments and places remembered. Her paintings are influenced by the colors of the California desert and its surrounding canyons and by the Berkshire mountain landscape. Her work is full of vibrant saturated color and its exuberant abstraction is a balancing act between sophistication and simplicity. Often minute amounts of cool colors control warm colors, or very small amounts of warm hues control cool colors. Her smaller squares allow the freedom to place the work in any combination or relationship, whereby the artwork and the viewer's perception can continually evolve. Her artwork has been exhibited widely since 1979 and is part of many public, private and corporate collections some of which are: Bayer (CT),Citibank, NA (NY), Smithsonian Collection (Washington, DC), Pepsico Inc. (NY), Greenville Museum of Art (NC), Tele-Communications Inc. (CO), Darby & Darby (NY), Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. (NY), IBM (NY).

"Linda Nisselson's paintings are reflective and bold. She reveals a sort of Minimalist Expressionism that is fluid and forthright."

"Linda Nisselson's offerings indicate the experience of existing in complex space. Her selections reveal an ability to play off lights and darks, searching with deep space hinted at."
